A home-made cold brew made out of specialty coffee

Cool and Caffeinated LluevaCafe’s Specialty Cold Brew with Milk

As we find ourselves in the heat of the summer, there's nothing quite like a refreshing cold brew to keep us cool and caffeinated. Today, we'll share with you how to create your own cold brew with milk

**Step 1: Choose Your Beans**
At LluevaCafe, we offer a wide range of specialty coffee beans sourced from Latin America. For a cold brew, we recommend opting for a light to medium roast. The cold brewing process highlights the unique flavors of these beans, creating a brew that is smooth, sweet, and highly nuanced.

**Step 2: Grind those Beans**
The key to a great cold brew lies in the grind size. Opt for a coarse grind as it helps in slower extraction, creating a balanced and robust cold brew. If you're unsure, we're always here to help you at our LluevaCafe shops.

**Step 3: Cold Brewing**
For this step, you'll need a cold brew pitcher or a large jar. We use a Mason Jar. The coffee to water ratio is paramount. We recommend a ratio of 1:4 (coffee to water). So, if you're using one cup of coffee, you'll need four cups of cold, filtered water.

Add your coffee grounds to the pitcher or jar, then slowly pour in the water, ensuring all the grounds are fully submerged. Stir gently to combine. Cover the mixture and let it steep in your refrigerator for about 16-24 hours.

**Step 4: Strain the Brew**
Once your brew has steeped, you'll need to strain it to remove the coffee grounds. Using a fine-mesh sieve or a coffee filter, strain the coffee into a clean jar or bottle. This might take a few minutes, so be patient - good things come to those who wait!

**Step 5: Serve Your Cold Brew**
Now comes the fun part - serving your cold brew! Fill a glass with ice, pour the cold brew until the glass is about three-quarters full, and then top it off with your choice of milk. For a vegan option, almond or oat milk complements the brew beautifully.

There you have it - your very own specialty cold brew with milk.
