Our Colombian coffee is a well-balanced medium roast with low acidity, that has a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. It has a subtle sweetness, with notes of caramel and honey that add a touch of indulgence.
Sourced from the mountain regions of Colombia, our coffee beans are carefully selected and roasted to perfection to bring out their unique flavor profile. The coffee has a nutty aroma that gives way to a smooth and mellow taste, with a hint of chocolate.

What's so great about Colombian coffee anyway?
-
Ideal Growing Conditions: Colombia's geography provides perfect conditions for growing coffee. Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, it has the ideal climate, with consistent, year-round temperatures and well-timed rainy and dry seasons. The country's mountains and valleys provide high altitudes and fertile soils, both of which are key to producing rich and flavorful coffee beans.
-
Arabica Beans: Colombia exclusively grows Arabica coffee, widely regarded as the superior species of coffee bean due to its smooth, sweet taste, and low acidity.
-
Hand-picked Harvesting: Colombian coffee is often harvested by hand. This ensures only the ripest, highest-quality beans are picked, which significantly contributes to the final quality of the coffee.
-
High-Quality Control Standards: Colombian coffee is strictly regulated by the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (FNC), ensuring that only the highest quality beans make it to market.
-
Diverse Flavor Profiles: Different regions of Colombia produce beans with varied flavor profiles. Coffee from the mountains of Antioquia tends to be full-bodied and rich, while coffee from the Huila region is often fruity and bright. This diversity adds to the allure of Colombian coffee.
The Farmer: El Vergel coffee farm in Fresno, Tolima.
El Vergel stands as a testament to a lifelong passion for farming inherited from their avocado-growing heritage. They ventured into coffee production in 2012, their hearts captivated by coffee beans of course. Inspired by the specialty coffee movement two years later, a new vision for El Vergel was conceived - a vision that intertwines quality, flavor, and sustainable farming practices.
Their passion blossomed into a comprehensive varietal project in 2016, after extensive research on coffee varieties, favorable climates, and fertile soils. El Vergel's unique location at the foot of the snow-capped Nevado del Ruiz volcano contributes to its distinctive microclimate, which greatly enhances the coffee's profile.
